Membership is voluntary and available to all manufacturers and installers in the shade net industry, who supports and buys into the Association’s vision and objectives.

Requirements & Benefits

  • Membership is voluntary and available to all manufacturers and installers in the shade net industry.
  • Member companies must be officially registered with CIPC.
  • Once approved for membership, the member will be added to the list of preferred and/or recommended companies.
  • Members must adhere to the established standards and regulations as determined and communicated by the association.
  • Annually reviewed membership fees are determined by the executive committee.
  • Members or office-bearers do not become liable for any of the obligations and liabilities of the organisation solely by virtue of their status as members or office-bearers of the organisation.
  • Non-timeous payment of annual membership will lead to termination of membership with notice.
  • Current annual membership fee is R 44 000/year, payable in advance.
    Alternatively, twelve equal monthly payments of R 3 666.66.

Requirements to become a member:

  • Be a manufacturer, installer or converter of shadeport and/or shadenet related products and/or services;
  • Operate from the registered company address within the borders of South Africa;
  • Letters of Good standing (COIDA/SARS)
  • Engineer designed and approved carports/shadenet (structures);
  • Installations and structures have to be designed, installed and signed-off by a competent person/people.
  • Records and evidence thereof are to be kept for a minimum period of 10 years.
  • Branded Entity (clothes, vehicles, office);
  • Compliance to the National Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.
  • Compliance to SPASA members’ Code of Conduct.

  • Having the opportunity to raise industry matters/issues of common interest, so as to constantly drive change as well as improvement in the Shadenet/Shadeport industry;
  • Access to conflict and/or dispute resolution mechanisms through SPASA i.e. complaints;
  • Member education and awareness;
  • Opportunity to be elected and serve on the SPASA Board;
  • Staying abreast of industry developments and news via the SPASA newsletter;
  • Member voting and participation in the affairs and interests of SPASA.

Terms & Conditions

These T&C must be accepted as the final step before you can finalise and submit your application(s).

  • My organisation may not use SPASA’s logo not until such time as membership has been approved and a certificate has been issued confirming membership and membership dates.
  • My organisation will cease to utilise or display any SPASA logo when membership has been suspended and/or terminated.
  • Payment of membership fees are non-refundable once paid.
  • My Organisation will comply with and will be bound by SPASA’s Code of Conduct, norms and standards.
